Expression of Gratitude

The Lidice Art Collection would like to extend its warmest appreciation to the GASK – Central Bohemian Gallery for their outstanding collaboration during our recent research visit.

While conducting provenance research on inventory item VU314, Gerhard Richter's "Onkel Rudi" (1965), the Registrar Team at GASK made a remarkable discovery of a wealth of documents, photographs, and negatives that significantly contribute to the history of the Lidice Art Collection. These invaluable records remained with GASK following the 2001 transfer of the collection, and we are delighted to share that they have now been officially transferred to the Lidice Memorial Collection.

Furthermore, we are pleased to inform you that relevant photographic negatives have been secured for digitisation, ensuring their long-term preservation and accessibility. This successful collaboration demonstrates the vital role of inter-institutional research in enriching our collective historical record.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Věra Pinnoy, Head of Collection Administration at GASK; Richard Drury, Head of the Art Department at GASK; and Jitka Francová from GASK’s Collection Administration for their unwavering support and generosity.

As we create a new Lidice Art Collection catalogue, this exciting discovery will enable us to share the authentic narrative of the Lidice Art Collection for the first time.
