We are pleased to announce the appointment of Miloslav Vorlíček as Head of the Lidice Art Collection, effective 1 July 2026. The appointment was made by Dr Eduard Stehlík, Director of the Lidice Memorial.

Miloslav has worked with the Lidice Art Collection since 2023, most recently as Curator and Registrar, where his responsibilities spanned collection stewardship, fundraising, and the digitisation and residency programmes. He holds a Master's degree in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art. Over his time at LAC, he has led the development of the collection's international partnerships, overseen major loans including Gerhard Richter's Onkel Rudi to the Fondation Louis Vuitton, and guided the collection through significant new donations, including the 2025 gift of 65 works from the NHK Collection.

As Head of LAC, Miloslav will lead the collection's strategic direction for the years ahead, building on the founding principle of solidarity that has shaped LAC since artists worldwide first answered the call to donate work in 1966. His priorities include broadening access to the collection, strengthening its financial resilience beyond state subsidy, and deepening its curatorial and research ambitions as a collection of international significance.

Alongside this appointment, Miriam Kulmová is undertaking a structured handover of registrar responsibilities through the second half of 2026, ahead of taking up the role of LAC Registrar in full from January 2027.

We look forward to sharing the new LAC Strategic Plan 2026–2030 shortly, which sets out this direction in detail.
