Join us for the opening of 2 0 1 9 8: Presence, an exhibition at the Art Lab – Lidice Art Collection on Thursday, 13 November 2025, 5 pm.

Martin Zetová, Jan Krtička

2 0 1 9 8: Presence focuses on moments of individual recording of experienced events and their subsequent recollection. Despite our concentrated remembering, the story reveals itself fragmentarily over time. The human experience is continuously layered and overlapped. It opens a dialogue with one documented artistic action.

In the Lidice Art Collection, Jan Krtička got captivated by the video recording of Zetová's performance Easy Marchers – Czech Collection of the 20th Century, a parade through Prague on the day of the presidential elections. The performance culminates at the entrance to the Spanish Hall, Prague Castle. Jan Krtička's interactive sound installation I don't remember much about it... (2025) expands Zetová's performance by introducing a subjective, changing memory trace. Krtička works with the principle of "hunting in the ether" – the viewer is invited to tune in to individual radio frequencies and thereby actively participate in the process of collective remembering.
