Art as a Form of Resistance is organised to coincide with our current twin exhibitions, Marta Popivoda: What Lies Above Us in the Shadows Like a Black Cloud and Nina Jirsíková and Lidice Women: We Are Survivors on a Broken Rock. Both exhibitions are held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the return of the surviving Lidice Women from the Ravensbrück concentration camp, highlighting the vital role that art and craft had in preserving the dignity of those imprisoned, and also in contemporary memory preservation.
